15 for 2015 Review

A new page, a new year, 2016 is here. I'm glad to see 2015 go. It was a busy, big year for our family and while I didn't do everything I set out to do, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about myself along the way. It's funny how life works out; it's even funnier how it doesn't.

I have decided not to set any goals for 2016, because looking down at this list, I feel disappointed I didn't hit my marks—and know I probably could have tried harder in some areas, and set really lofty aspirations for others.

That being said, I am glad I used this as a guide to keep me motivated to cook more, read more, experience more.

So here's how it shook out, here's the last update of 15 for 2015.

Hit the Pure Barre Montgomery 250 Tuck Club (Accomplished in January)
Spend another long weekend in Curacao We did not go back to our favorite place on Earth this year and I am definitely sad about it.
Show Fitz and Alex the beach We did not show them the traditional beach. I believe this was one of my more lofty aspirations for the year that fell a little flat—unfortunately. It is also one of the ones that makes me the most sad I am not able to cross off. HOWEVER, we did take a trip up to Wisconsin to our family's cabin in the North Woods and they enjoyed boat rides and did see lake water's edge. They even went fishing with their dad!
They even ate supper at the same restaurant notorious gangster John Dillinger did before his capture following a shootout with the FBI. It was a great trip!

Try 15 new recipes 1: Creamy Italian Chicken Crockpot Bake I made up using a random collection of things in my fridge in desperation the other day: 1 lb. chicken breast; 1 tablespoon of butter; about 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning; 1 tablespoon of parsley; 1 cup of chicken stock and 1 block of cream cheese. Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Shred with a fork and mix well. Layer with cooked pasta or rice and garnish with parsley. Makes enough for two solid dinner portions and two solid lunch portions. Mark deemed it a new favorite! 2: Cajun Cake recipe from Southern Living Annual Recipes 1987 edition 3: Basil Chicken Pizza 4: Fiesta Chicken Rice Bowls
Completely clean out my closet I did a mini purge trying to find something to wear to a friend's wedding, but I still need to really clean it out.

15 for 2015 Update: February

It's already March? You've got to be kidding. In my mind, yesterday was basically my birthday. Tomorrow the twins will be five months old. This blows my flipping mind.

Since it's a new month, I feel like I should at least update my little online diary of what I hope to accomplish for 2015. I knocked off a few things in February—nothing holds a person accountable quite like the internet!

15 for 2015 Update: January

I swear just when I feel like I've got a handle on something, I realize I've forgotten fifteen other things. It has been a crazy time around here. There's been epic sicknesses, woods re-entries, a birthday coming up, some goals accomplished and two newborns who are very close to rolling over and making me so proud killing all my hopes and dreams of having tiny babies forever.

So in an effort to get caught up on my life, I mean, keep track of my 15 for 2015, I wanted to update my progress. Because nothing holds a person accountable quite like the internet! Ha!

 15 for 2015
Hit the Pure Barre Montgomery 250 Tuck Club: ACCOMPLISHED! This one felt so good. My love for Pure Barre runs deep, and I've discussed it plenty of times. But this goal was such a big one for me. Celebrating after class with some of my PB besties was the icing on the cake.

15 for 2015

via
I recently saw a post on a blog that got me thinking…what exactly are my goals for the new year?

I've never been a huge resolutions/goals person. Maybe that's because I'm lazy? But I always seem to get the things done I want to get done…eventually. So this year I'm going to try something different, you know since I'm someone's mother now I should maybe be more of an adult am going to hold myself accountable for things?
Maybe I should add take pictures with my DSLR camera instead of my old, crappy iPhone to my list?
On January 2, 2014 I had no idea what the year ahead would hold. It's been a helluva ride to say the least. This year I plan to be a little more intentional with my time, enjoy my babies, enjoy my husband and really be present in the moments. I'm usually pretty good about that last one but damn, these days I am TIRED.
